Planaxis Snails

The few species comprising this group have thick, conical shells. Some are smooth; others are spirally ribbed; the aperture is often ridged and the columella may have a single tooth; the siphonal canal is well defined. There is a thin, corneous operculum. These shells occur on intertidal rocks.
