DESCRIPTION
A moderately large, thick, and heavy shell, higher than it is wide, with its spire less then haft the total height. The spire whorls are well rounded, but the body whorl is sometimes square-sided in appearance. The suture is well impressed; a small umbilicus may be present. All whorls have strong spiral ribs which may be either flat-topped or have strong, fluted scales. These ribs are well developed towards the edge of the aperture, which has corrugations corresponding to the ribs. Color whitish or cream, blotched with brown or green. Outer edge of aperture greenish; inside and columella silvery.
